More than just the 4th of July fireworks were shooting off at Angel Stadium on Friday. There were also two homeruns in the game, sending balls like rockets into the stands. Torii Hunter went deep in second with his 10 HR of the season, and then Anderson hit one out in the seventh, going three for four on the night. This, plus 11 other hits provided by the Angels offense, was enough to overpower the Blue Jays and come away with the win.

The offense also played well, as they took the field sporting their new 4th of July caps to celebrate the occasion.

Everyone who came to the plate for the Angels got at least one hit, including Howie Kendrick who earned three of the Angels’ 8 runs. That alone would have been enough to win, but the Angels kept hitting and scoring to rack up a sizeable lead.

Jared Weaver got his eighth win of the season, his record now coming to 8-8. He pitched well, going 7 1/3 innings giving up two runs on 6 hits and only one walk to Blue Jays batters. His succesors, Justin Speier and Daren Oliver also did well, allowing no runs to score in their combined 1.2 innings of work.
