The players for the American and National League All Star Game lineups were announced. A franchise high three pitchers were chosen to compete for the Angels. First time all star, Ervin Santana, with a current record of 10-3 ERA 3.28, another first time all star, Joe Saunders, 12-4 ERA 3.04, and third time all star Francisco Rodriguez, 35 saves ERA 1.88. Despite the fact the Angels starting pitcher John Lackey has returned from the DL with outstanding numbers with a record of 6-2 and an ERA of 1.93, he was not chosen to go to New York. No one else from the Angels will make it, ending Guerrero’s four year streak. He also will not compete in the home run derby.

The Red Sox have the most players in the All Star Game with seven. The Texas Rangers follow closely behind with four.
